Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Arts
The Arts scholarships have a limited number. Master’s degree students who are privileged to become the beneficiaries can study at any university of Arts in Switzerland. It will also cover each student’s full-time research.
Who is the Art scholarship for?
- If your country has a reciprocity agreement with the government of Switzerland for arts scholarships.
- If you are highly talented in arts but without a master’s degree.
Eligibility for Arts scholarships
- Must be born after December 31, 1989
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent before July 31, 2025
Scholarship duration
- The Arts scholarship runs for 12 months but can be prolonged for up to 21  months, depending on the master’s program you selected and the ECTS credits.
- The scholarship begins on 1st September 2025 for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Amount
- A monthly payment of CHF 1,920
- It covers the living cost of one person

Swiss government excellence scholarships (Research fellow scholarships)
The Swiss government research scholarships for PhD, research fellows, and postdoctoral are available in all disciplines. However, each interested candidate must hold a master’s degree and be ready to come to Switzerland to pursue their education at the above-listed academic level.
Furthermore, these scholarships will be available at all Swiss cantonal universities, two federal institutes of technology, universities of applied sciences, and four other research institutions. You must be nominated by an academic supervisor from any of the above-mentioned institutions to be considered.

Who is the research fellowship scholarship for?
- Research scholars who have not been to Switzerland
- Postgraduate researchers from all academic disciplines including the medical field who are highly qualified.
Eligibility for the Research Fellow scholarship
- Bag a master’s degree or equivalent before July 2025
- Be born after December 31, 1989
- Have a research proposal with a time frame
- Write a short CV
- Submit a letter from an academic host professor

- Have a strong academic profile, research capacity, and motivation
- Ensure that your research project is highly original and methodologically sound
- Have a quality academic context with future academic cooperation
Award amount
- The research scholarship is worth CHF 1,920
- It does not serve as a salary
- The scholarship only covers the living cost of one person
