The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships offer a comprehensive opportunity for international students to pursue master’s, doctoral, or postdoctoral studies in Switzerland with financial support. Monthly stipend: CHF 1,920 to cover living expenses.
Full tuition waiver and health insurance (for non-EU/EFTA countries).
Housing allowance: CHF 300 paid once at the beginning of the stay.
Travel allowance: A lump sum ticket for non-EU/EFTA recipients at the end of the program.
Half-fare public transportation card for ease of mobility in Switzerland.
The scholarship does not cover family allowances, focusing only on the student’s individual expenses.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must have completed a master’s degree (or equivalent) by July 31, 2025.
A research proposal must be submitted, along with confirmation of supervision by a professor from a recognized Swiss university.
Applicants must be born after December 31, 1989, and should not have lived in Switzerland for more than one year before the start of the scholarship.
Previous recipients of a Swiss Government Scholarship are not eligible to apply again.
