Scholarship Overview:

The Destination Australia Scholarship aims to encourage students to pursue their university education in regional areas of Australia. This scholarship supports students in choosing regional campuses, thereby promoting growth and development in these communities. The scholarship provides significant financial support to both domestic and international students as they undertake their studies.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the Destination Australia Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• New Students: You must be a first-time student at the level you are applying for, meaning you should not have previously studied at the same level (e.g., undergraduate or postgraduate).
• Full-Time Enrollment: The scholarship is only available to full-time students enrolled at one of the following Southern Cross University campuses:
  • Lismore campus
  • Coffs Harbour campus
  • National Marine Science Centre (NMSC) campus
• New Enrolment at Southern Cross University: Applicants must meet the Australian government’s definition of a “new student” to Southern Cross University.
• Residency in a Regional Area: Scholarship recipients are required to live in a regional area as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Edition 3, which is based on the reference period from July 2021 to June 2026. Students must maintain residency in this regional area for the entire duration of each academic study period.
• International Student Visa Requirements: International students must hold and maintain a valid student visa for the entire duration of their scholarship. This ensures compliance with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000, providing legal protections and support to international students studying in Australia.

Eligible Applicants: Both domestic and international students are eligible for this scholarship program.

Level of Study: Available for all levels of study, whether undergraduate, postgraduate, or research.

Fields of Study: Open to any field of study offered at the participating campuses.

Scholarship Value: Recipients will receive between AUD $7,500 and AUD $45,000 per year, depending on the program and level of study.
